The opposition Forum for Democratic Change, FDC party National Executive Committee has approved revised internal processes plan for 2021 elections.

The Party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat says the plan in keeping with the party constitution and knowing that President Museveni wants to take the country by surprise in as far as the election is concerned.

He says the NEC advised that all party members who wish to stand for any elective position should fill the expression of interest forms indicating positions they want to contest in, in the upcoming general elections. The exercise will be closed by end of this month.

Those planning to stand for President are supposed to fill the forms and hand them over to the party’s electoral commission at the headquarters. Meanwhile, aspiring candidates for City Mayor, LCV Chairpersons, are also expected to submit their forms to the party headquarters, while the rest will return the forms to district offices.

“We intend to hold party primaries for Local Government in the months of July and August, while Parliament and President Primaries will be in August and September” he said.

He noted that NEC also approved the committee that will put together the manifesto of the FDC for the period 2021-2026. The committee will be led by Hon. Waffula Oguttu Philip as Chairman, deputized by Hon. Albert Okello.

Other members of the committee are Dr. Joseph Tindyebwa, Hon. Salam Musumba, Mr. Mukalazi Kibuuka and Hon. Betty Aol Ochan. Amuriat says the members have been urged to finish the document in time for the nomination of the party flag bearers.
