The Democratic Party, Uganda’s oldest Political party will on Friday October 14th 2016 celebrate its 62nd anniversary.
DP marked 62 on Thursday October 6th. The party president Norbert Mao says they dedicated October of each year to the history of the Democratic Party and declared it to be the DP History Month.
“This year we shall carry out countrywide activities to educate the public about the founding ideals of DP and the history and contribution of DP to the struggle for Truth, Justice and good governance in general” Mao told the press today.
DP members will on Friday this week spend the morning hours cleaning katabi market in Busiro South Constituency in Wakiso District.
“In the afternoon, we shall gather in Katabi to celebrate with the public in a rally. On the same occasion, a newly published book on the history of the Democratic Party by renowned academic and historian Lwanga Linyiigo will be launched” Mao added.
