Former presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye is in trouble again after skipping his bail, forcing the Nakawa Chief Magistrate's Court to issue criminal summons over the treason charges he is currently facing.

Dr. Besigye who was scheduled to report back to the court on Monday but didn't since it was a public holiday, should have appeared yesterday Tuesday but was a no show, and neither did his lawyers report in court.

One of the opposition Ironman’s sureties, Rukungiri Municipality MP Roland Mugume, told court that he is out of the country.

This prompted state prosecutor Doreen Elima to ask court to issue criminal summons for him before asking court for more time to complete investigations.

Elima asked court to give the state another date to enable them tie the loose ends and have Dr. Besigye committed to the High Court to stand trial.

Subsequently, trial Grade One Magistrate Christine Nantege issued the criminal summons for the opposition leader for October 12.
