Mudiobole Nasser of the Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) was declared the rightful Member of Parliament of Iganga Municipality by Jinja High Court after a petition accusing incumbent Mugema Peter alias Panadol for voter bribery.
Mudiobole's legal team which comprised of lawyer Alex Luganda, Benny Mutamba and Asumani Nyonyintono were able to avail sufficient evidence to implicate their rival and political opponent.
The group accuses Mugema Peter of voter bribery days to final voting and video clips were produced during the hearing.
Mugema peter also issued a donation of three hundred thousand to Bethel Healing Church on the eve of the election
With all the evidences provided Judge Margareta Mutonyi declared Mudiobole Nasser Abed as the lawful Member of Parliament for Iganga municipality and ordered Mugema peter to step down and also meet costs of the petitioner.
There won’t be a reelection in abid to save tax payers money provided that race had two racers only.. However, Mugema peter Mugema Peter has vowed to appeal against this ruling through his lawyers of Kiwanuka and Karugire advocates claiming that’s he is politically hunted because of his outstanding support for Meddie Nsereko during the Deputy Speaker of Parliament elections.
