Opposition forum for democratic change, FDC has demanded for an authentic independent audit into the February 18th Presidential election.

Addressing a press briefing at Najjananjumbi this morning, the party President Rtd. Maj. Gen Mugisha Muntu said the election was not free and fair, and the electoral commission announced a wrong winner.

According to Muntu, there are contradictions between what was received, and the results declared by the Electoral commission.

The Bush war hero also condemned the arrest of their party candidate, party officials including polling agents, and supporters. He also demanded their release.

Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye has been arrested 9 times in 11 days for attempting to leave his besieged Kansangati hime.

However, police has for long insisted Besigye is not under house arrest, but they are preventing him from causing any destabilization in Kampala.

Meanwhile,

Dr. Kiiza Besigye said; “If our demand for an independent audit of the election falls on deaf ears, we shall take actions to de-legitimise the military dictatorship.”

He added: “We would like the International community to support our demand for an independent audit of the election.”
