700 pedestrians were arrested for flouting curfew guidelines last week; Fred Enanga the police spokesperson has revealed. 

Police also impounded 935 motor vehicles, while 1,755 motorcycles were also impounded for the same. 

Meanwhile, police also carried out operations at Kawala zone 3, Namungoona roundabout at Ensi Eganya and arrested 9 suspects who were on its watch list.   

These were found in possession of narcotic drugs and break-in equipment. They are being held at Old Kampala police station.

At Wandegeya, detectives singled out one area, beginning from Kelerwe roundabout where they arrested 8 suspects. These were taken to court and remanded.

Enanga told reporters at Naguru on Monday, that 25 other suspects were arrested from the areas of Kyabando roundabout, Kyabando flyover around the diversion of Tirupati and KISU junction in Kawempe.

After screening, police remained with 16 who are being arraigned in courts of law today. In total, the police arrested 6 suspects who have been wreaking havoc and terrorizing people along the Northern bypass.
