Mayanja has been pestering his father for a portion of the land for over a year.

According to residents, Ssebwato asked Mayanja to give him more time to apportion the land fairly among other family members, which angered him.

He pulled out a machete and hacked his father several times on the head, neck, chest, hands and legs killing him.

Neighbors who responded to the alarm found Ssebwato’s lifeless body in a pool of blood while Mayanja had escaped to Mbiriizi town in Lwengo district.
