Police arrest members of Motorcycle gang who robbed Indian National in broad day light

The task team in Kampala metropolitan that is investigating the attack on Jiwan Lal an accountant at Rigil agro peck limited in Kololo, has arrested 12 out of 14 men who participated in the crime.


Police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga says the 12 men are in custody, following several crimes involving motorcycle riders in different parts of the City.
The incident happened on Saturday 24/07/2021 at around 12PM, along Mawanda Road. 


In a video shared by police, the victim was surrounded by and assaulted continuously until his money amounting to 5 million Uganda shillings and 2 phones were stolen from him.


While addressing the weekly press briefing at Naguru on Monday morning, Enanga identified members of the notorious crew as; Asibo Takuba alias Steven, Kasibante Gadaffi, Sserwada Jimmy, Ssewakilyanga Aloysius, Mawejje Latiff, Babu Salim, Ssemanda Jona, Mulema Richard, Yasin Sanda, Kalungi Swaibu (the landlord who has been accommodating the gang members), Ssekaganda Faruk alias Sharif and Akidi Karif.


The police took some of the suspects to help with reconstruction and documentation of several crime scenes. 
Enanga applauded members of the CCTV command centre who helped with identification of the suspects.
