Two suspected cattle thieves have been lynched by an angry mob in Kakumiro district. The duo allegedly raided the home of one of the residents of Katugu village in Nalweyo Sub County on Sunday and attempted to steal cows.
Their luck ran out when one of the residents spotted them and raised an alarm, which attracted hundreds of residents.
The mob pursued the suspects who were fleeing for dear life, intercepted and lynched them.
According to Julius Hakiza the Albertine Region Police spokesperson, by the time police arrived at the scene, it was late to save the lives of the suspects.
Police picked up their bodies and conveyed them to Kakumiro Health Center IV for postmortem where they were still lying by press time. Police are yet to establish the identities of the mob victims.
