President Museveni appoints Lt. Gen. Mbadi new Chief of Defence Forces 

Commander in Chief of the armed Forces, President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Gen. Wilson Mbadi as the Chief of Defence Forces-CDF, replacing Gen. David Muhoozi who was recently appointed State Minister for Internal Affairs.

Commander in Chief of the armed Forces, President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Gen. Wilson Mbadi as the Chief of Defence Forces-CDF, replacing Gen. David Muhoozi who was recently appointed State Minister for Internal Affairs.

Mbadi will be deputized by Lt. Gen Peter Elwelu, who was has been the Commander of Land Forces. 

Meanwhile, Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has been appointed Commander Land Forces from Commander of the Special Forces Commander.

He will be replaced by Brig. Peter Chandia at SFC.

The CIC also appointed Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda as the new Joint Chief of Staff. Kyanda replaces Lt. Gen Joseph Musanyufu. Kyanda has been the Chief of Staff Land Forces.
Musanyufu has been sent to civil service for redeployment.

Meanwhile, Maj Gen Sam Kavuma has been appointed the deputy coordinator of the Operation Wealth Creation while Maj Gen Sam Okiding is the new Deputy Commander of Land Forces.
