The Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago is out of danger in Nairobi, Kenya where he is hospitalised, his Deputy Doreen Nyanjura has said.

The Deputy Lord Mayor was responding to rumours on social media that Lukwago is in critical condition while others were pronouncing him dead.

According to Nyanjura, she last spoke to Lukwago and doctors at Nairobi Hospital have run several tests and results are so far not worrying.

She noted that doctors are still running some tests and that they (doctors) shall issue a comprehensive report today Friday. Nyanjura wondered how some people wake up every morning to announce others dead and wish them harm.

“There are people who have made it a preoccupation to announce others dead, from January to December this is all they do. If they don't announce those who are alive dead, they confidently declare who is next in the line of death! Do these sadists ever consider the pain, the psychological torture they put on those who may be sick but with a hope of recovering? Do they ever consider the pain, torture and anxiety they cause the family members??? Guys, this isn't funny any more!” she wrote on her facebook page.

Lukwago fell ill at earlier this month at Rubaga Cathedral where he had gone to pray for the late Archbishop Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga. He fainted and was helped by his aides who linked the fainting to the heat in the church since the use of fans and air conditioners is discouraged due to the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

However, he was referred to Nairobi Hospital last week for further treatment and management due to intermittent dizziness among other things.
