FDC Leadership to carryout countrywide mobilization exercise starting this week

The opposition Forum for Democratic Change, FDC party leadership will on Thursday this week launch the Party countrywide mobilization program

The team will be led by the Party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat together with senior leaders of the party including Secretary General, Party Chairman among others.

Hon. Ssemujju Nganda the party spokesperson told the press at Najjanankumbi on Monday, that the meeting which will take place in Bugiri, shall be attended by all FDC candidates who participated in the January elections for this particular area & all FDC branch leaders.

After the Thursday meeting, the delegation shall head to other districts in Busoga before a detailed program covering the rest of the country is issued.

“These meetings are to review the performance of FDC in the last election and when the senior party leaders headed by the president have been to all parts of Uganda, a comprehensive report of what the FDC leaders went through in the last elections will be compiled. That report will be presented to the top Management, it will be discussed by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Council, it will also propose a way forward for the party” Hon. Nganda said.

He added that after the discussion on this report, the FDC will begin grassroot election around July as the term of office for current leaders came to an end in July 2020 and they were unable to hold elections due to the COVID-19 pandemic which prompted them to extend term of office.

“With or without COVID-19 restrictions we think we will have all those elections and most likely will start in June or July. So, consultations among party leaders and some organs that are able to sit under the circumstances have now been concluded and that’s why the party leadership is going to launch the countrywide mobilization starting this week” He added.
