A total of 1, 181,666 candidates have registered to sit PLE, UCE and UACE 2020. This is a 3.8% increase in candidature, compared to 1, 138,000 candidates who registered in 2019.

The Ugandan Examinations Board, UNEB concluded the registration exercise on Monday 7th December 2020. Initially, the process was to end on November 30th, but a 7 days’ grace period was added to allow new centres to effectively finalize the process, and give an opportunity to those who may not have registered within the set period to do so.
Dan N Odongo the UNEB Executive Secretary says that Head teachers are now required to display the draft registers and albums to enable candidates verify their registration data.

“This will go on until the end of term. In case of any errors, amendments can be effected at UNEB. They should specifically lookout for errors with respect to names of candidates- Spellings and order of names, photographs of candidates to ensure they are not mismatched, Gender, Date and Year of birth, subjects and papers offered by the candidate, Institutional choices and Funding code” Odongo said.

For PLE candidates, an amendment form can be downloaded from the portal, while for UCE and UACE, an amendment request should be made to UNEB on the school letter head and the required documents attached.

“Parents and interested parties who wish to confirm the registration status of candidates can do so by sending an SMS to 6600, using any telephone network. They should type Reg. (space) Full Index Number. The send to 6600” Odongo explained.
