The Church which was demolished at the start of this week due to longstanding land wrangles, has left tongues wagging with many a people hailing curses on those involved.
The KCCA Ag. Director Physical Planning has since been arrested by police for facilitating the demolition that took place in the middle of the night. 11 other people and three police officers were also arrested over the same.

In a statement released on Wednesday, KCCA management said it is also deeply concerned about the incident and offered to cooperate with the State House Anti-Corruption Unit led by Col. Edith Nakalema which is currently investigating the case.

“The Management of KCCA commits to a participatory approach in the administration of the city to serve Kampala in all its diversity and build bridges to facilitate the development of the city” the letter reads.

St. Peters COU Ndeeba was demolished on the night of 8th August 2020 under unclear circumstances. Archbishop of Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu held a meeting with Bishops which was also attended by Gen Salim Saleh.

Gen. Saleh said he had been reading media reports that he is grabbing church land. He swore before the bishops, that he is not involved in church grabbing practices.
“Am I a mad person to grab a church? For that matter, I want to swear before you bishops and the Archbishop that in the name of God, I am not involved in church degrading practices” he swore.

On Monday, the Arch Bishop condemned the demolition of St Peter’s church in Ndeeba describing the act as evil and barbaric.
