The police in Nagalama have arrested a man suspected to have hacked a 20-year-old man to death over land wrangles. This murder took place in Nagoje County in Mukono district.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Area Police Spokesperson, the suspect is Hassan Kiwanuka, who has been on the run for hacking Matia Gimmony on June 30, 2020.
Owoyesigyire says the suspect allegedly picked a quarrel with Gimmony over a plot of land that was reportedly grabbed by the deceased’s father.
The victim was rushed to Kawolo hospital by residents where he later succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the attack.
The suspect who has been on the run was picked up Tuesday morning by Nagalama police and is locked up at Nagama Police station pending his appearance in court for murder.
Owoyesigyire says angry residents descended on the suspect’s house and demolished it.
