Police Directorate of Fire and Rescue Services has Friday put out a fire that broke out break at Kasubi tombs in one of the huts.
According to Patrick Onyango the police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan area, the fire broke out at around 1:00pm in one of the structures that were meters away from the main tomb.
“Police were informed and four fire tenders were dispatched to professionally handle the incident. The fire crew reached and extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire outbreak is not yet established” he noted.
Onyango says investigations have commenced on what caused the fire outbreak and that the extent of the damage is yet to be computed.
“We appeal to members of the public to be calm as we investigate the incident” he added.
