7 Health workers test positive for COVID19, Admitted to Entebbe Grade B Hospital

Ministry of health has announced that 7 frontline health workers have tested positive for COVID-19. These include 3 nurses, 2 doctors and 2 senior level staff. This brings the total number of confirmed COVID19 cases to 417 from 413 as of Saturday evening.

Ministry of health has announced that 7 frontline health workers have tested positive for COVID-19. These include 3 nurses, 2 doctors and 2 senior level staff. This brings the total number of confirmed COVID19 cases to 417 from 413 as of Saturday evening. 

According to a statement released by the ministry on Sunday evening, the health officials have all been admitted to Entebbe Grade B and Mulago National Specialized Hospital and are in stable condition. 

“A team of experts specialized in infection, prevention and control (IPC), case management and psychosocial management are currently in the various places where health workers tested positive, to evaluate the response and investigate what could have led to the unfortunate infection of the health workers” the statement says.

The ministry says it carries out routine testing for health workers based on the high chances of exposure to COVID19. 287 cases are admitted in 15 Referral hospitals in the country and are all in stable condition. Uganda also has 72 recoveries and 0 deaths. This leaves 61 cases unaccounted for.
