URA Appoints new Commissioner Corporate Services following Kateshumbwa’s Resignation 

Former Commissioner Corporate Services Uganda Revenue Authority, URA Mr. Mukiibi Patrick has been appointed to the position of Commissioner Domestic Taxes replacing Mr. Dicksons Kateshumbwa who resigned.

Former Commissioner Corporate Services Uganda Revenue Authority, URA Mr. Mukiibi Patrick has been appointed to the position of Commissioner Domestic Taxes replacing Mr. Dicksons Kateshumbwa who resigned.

In a statement released this afternoon, management indicates that on Thursday 28th May 2020, the Board sat and made recommendations concerning the reorganization and Management of URA, forcing some Senior Officials to resign and the Board has accepted their resignations. 

Those that resigned are; Mr. Dicksons Kateshumbwa, Mr. Henry Saka, Mr. Silajji Kanyesigye Baguma and Mr. Samuel Kahima. Management has since appointed other officers to take over the offices with immediate effect.

The restructuring also saw Mrs. Patience T. Rubagumya remain as Commissioner Legal Services and Board Affairs, Mr. Herbert Rusoke remains as Commissioner Internal Audit and Compliance, Mr. Abel Kagumire remains as Acting Commissioner Customs, Mr. Mathew Mugabi has been appointed as Acting Commissioner Tax Investigations. 

Also, Mr. James Kizza has been appointed as Acting Commissioner Corporate Services, Mr. John Tinka Katungwesi will be Acting Assistant Commissioner Large Taxpayers Office while all other Senior Management positions are not affected by these changes.
