The coordinators of People Power under the leadership of Kyadondo East MP Hon. RRobert Kyagulanyi have been denied access to Grand Pacific Hotel in Lira town, the venue at which they were supposed to hold a consultative meeting.

By press time, police which deployed overnight to stop the consultative exercise were still on the venue, chasing away anyone that showed up for the meeting.
By Midday when we last communicated with our source, Kyagulanyi and his team from Kampala were still on their way to Lira.

Police claims the singer cum politician and his team did not obtain written permission from the management of the Hotel (venue) allowing them to use the facility for the consultations.

However, People Power leadership insists they paid and were allowed access by the hotel management.

This is the third consultative meeting for the People Power faction that has been cancelled after Kampala and Gulu on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

Kyagulanyi sought permission from the Electoral commission and Police to hold consultative meetings after declaring his intentions to stand for president in 2021.
