FDC Decries office Break-ins, Prepares big feast for 15th Anniversary

Opposition Forum for Democratic Change, FDC Party has described as evil, the act of thugs breaking into their offices at Headquarters and in the district branch of Kasese on Tuesday and Wednesday last week.

According to John Kikonyogo the deputy party spokesperson, a number of offices especially for CSO’s have been broken into before, including the Forum for African Women Educationalist, Save for Health Uganda, Action Aid Uganda, Human Rights Network (HURINET), Human Rights Network for Journalists (HRNJ), Citizens Coalition for Independent Media, The Observer News Paper, Legal Aid Service Providers Network (LASPNET), Refugee Law Project, Inter Religious Council of Uganda (IRC) among others.
Kikonyogo says the target in all these offices has been computers, files and where guards tried to resist killed. In all these incidents, Police has never issued any conclusive report.

“As we wait for the Police Report, the Party has contracted private investigators to do the same and this will enable us compare their report with that of Police to inform management of the next course of action” Kikonyogo said.

While addressing the weekly party press conference, Kikonyogo also announced that the party will on 16th December 2019, celebrate its 15th Anniversary at Mandela National Stadium. It has been a norm for police to stop such celebrations and a committee headed by the party spokesperson Hon. Sssemuju Nganda has already started with preparations.
It is unclear whether the party has sought permission from police to hold such an event at a big venue like Namboole.
