One person is dead and 8 others were critically injured when a Sino truck registration number UAX 495M rammed into vehicles. The incident happened at around 8:30am along Ntinda Kiwatule Road,
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango identified the deceased as Matovu William, 32, a rider, who succumbed to injuries he had sustained during the accident at Kampala Independent Hospital.
The vehicle that is alleged to have caused the accident, rammed into nine vehicles and two motorcycles.
The affected Vehicles are; UBB 659N WISH, UAK 716R RAV4, UAX 469C HIACE, UAW 188E HIACE, UBA O88X PREMIO, UAV O12Y PLATZ, UAP 700X MERCEDES, UAZ 388J HIACE and UAZ 203C SUBARU.
The affected motorcycles are; UGC 198S and UEN 075F.
According to Oyango, the truck driver is currently on the run. Investigations are still ongoing to establish what exactly caused the accident.
