UNEB Registers Success in First week of 2019 UCE Examinations

The Uganda Anational Examinations Board, UNEB has revealed that the ongoing Uganda Certification of Education have had no interruption despite the weather challenges.

During a media briefing in Kampala this morning, the Principle Examinations officer UNEB James Turyateemba said that they were able to distribute examination papers in all parts of the country by 7:20am on Monday 14th October 2019 when the candidates started writing the examinations.

According to Turyateemba, throughout last week, the UCE examination was conducted smoothly. “Although bad weather was experienced in some parts of the country did not culminate in any serious disruption of our operation” He noted.

In a statement written by Dan Odongo the UNEB Secretary and read by Turyateemba, the board thanked their counterparts including schools, security organs, parents and members of the media fraternity for the support rendered so far and utmost vigilance.

“We thank the media for their accurate and responsible reporting and also appreciate members of the public for their unwavering support and cooperation by giving us useful information that has made it possible to enhance security of examinations” Odongo’s statement reads.

He called upon candidates to remain calm and write their remaining papers without engaging in any form of malpractice. 

Senior Four candidates started their final papers on 14th October 2019.
