Trouble has befallen a witchdoctor in Wakiso district after he allegedly defiled his 12-year-old patient.
Onesmus Mwesigwa, the Officer in Charge of Criminal investigations at Entebbe Police Station identifies the suspect as 63-year-old Julius Kule, a resident of Kitubulu in Katabi town Council in Wakiso District.
Police arrested Kule last evening when the victim’s father, Ismail Baraka filed a complaint at Entebbe Police Station.
The minor told police that Kule repeatedly defiled her between February and July when she was taken to his shrine for treatment for epilepsy.
Preliminary information indicates that after the minor was diagnosed with epilepsy, her parents were advised to take her to the witch doctor for treatment. The suspect advised the parents to let the minor sleep in her shrine as he administers treatment.
During this time, the shameless Kule would take the minor to the forest at night where he would sexually assault her, saying it was part of medication.
“This all happened whenever he called me to go to Katabi, Gombolola forest. He removed my clothes and asked me to lie on the ground. He inserted his genitals into my private parts,” the victim narrated.
Mwesigwa says they have opened charges of aggravated defilement against Kule and forwarded the file to the Directorate of Public prosecution in Entebbe for perusal and advise before he appears in court.
