Second gun used in KCB Jinja Attack recovered

Police detectives in Jinja have recovered the second gun that was used by thugs in an attempted robbery at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) on Wednesday night.

Police detectives in Jinja have recovered the second gun that was used by thugs in an attempted robbery at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) on Wednesday night.  

According to Diana Nandawula, the Kiira Regional Police spokesperson, the second gun was found at a residence in works zone, Nile Crescent road in Jinja town. The gun is suspected to have been abandoned by one of the guards, who plotted the robbery.  

She adds that all the suspects, including two private guards identified as Willy Namutondo and Bernard Otikoi attached to pinnacle Security Company, are on the run. Details of the third suspect remain unknown.  

Nandawula reveals that on Wednesday evening, the suspects abandoned one gun with 5 rounds of ammunition. Police are working with the management of Pinnacle Security to hunt for the guards.  

She adds that teams have already been dispatched to their home districts, and their homes in Jinja have also been searched where the second gun, of pump-action series, has been recovered.
