Uganda is gearing up to host the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary conference slated for 26th September 2019 at Speke resort Munyonyo. Speaker Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga says her office has already received confirmations from Australia, India and Canada among others.

"We have sent out invitations for the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference. We have received confirmations, and most are from Australia, India and Canada. 120 participants have registered" she says.

The Speaker made the revelation this morning as she hosts a breakfast meeting with High Commissioners to Uganda, at Parliament. 

The Meeting is part of preparations for the forthcoming Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference. 

Kadaga also told her guests that President Yoweri Museveni has agreed to come and officiate at the opening ceremony.

High Commissioners recommended private sector engagement at the 64th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference. 

The Seychelles Consular, Elly Karuhanga suggested that private sector stakeholders such as Uganda Manufacturers Association, Private Sector Foundation Uganda should be invited to present the perspectives of the Private sector at the conference.
