Two suspected cattle thieves have been sent to their creator by an angry mob in Arapai Sub County in Soroti district.

Two suspected cattle thieves have been sent to their creator by an angry mob in Arapai Sub County in Soroti district. 

The duo which was lynched by the mob has been identified as Moses Iduma Elilu and John Michael Okudeta both residents of Olusira and Angaro village in Arapai Sub County respectively.   

Residents suspected the two of stealing four bulls on Friday night last week. They were however lynched last evening. 

According to Michael Odongo, the East Kyoga Region Police spokesperson, police was called to the scene, but found the suspects already dead.  

The public has been warned ic to desist from taking the law into their hands but instead hand suspects to police for prosecution.  

The Arapai Sub County LC III chairman Michael Emetu, decried the rampant theft of livestock in the sub county, arguing that more than 30 cows have been stolen in a spate of four months.

Emetu says the deceased have been known livestock thieves.
