Three people have been arrested by the Police in Bushenyi district on charges of circulating counterfeit currencies.

Three people have been arrested by the Police in Bushenyi district on charges of circulating counterfeit currencies.    

According to Martial Tumusiime the Greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson, the three were arrested after they gave 1.7 million shillings to a businessman Andrew Bweyare in Bushenyi town.

The suspects are Angela Kamayonza a fruit vendor in Bushenyi town, Rachael Katusime a resident of Kyeizooba Sub County and leader Meshach Tindyebwa, a resident of Rwengoma in Kabarole district. 

The trio has allegedly been working with some other agents to circulate the counterfeit money in question and had managed to circulate millions of money into the public.     

According to Tumusiime, the suspects are being held at Bushenyi police station in Bushenyi district pending investigation.
