Three Senior Government Officials from Lira Municipality in Northern Uganda have been released on Police Bond but will soon appear in court surrendering to Police CID headquarters in Kibuli Kampala following a one week hunt for them over corruption related charges.

Three Senior Government Officials from Lira Municipality in Northern Uganda have been released on Police Bond but will soon appear in court surrendering to Police CID headquarters in Kibuli Kampala following a one week hunt for them over corruption related charges.

The officers are; Lira Municipality Mayor Micheal Ogwang, Lira Municipality Clerk Rebecca Achen, and the Deputy Town Clerk Patrick Ogwen. The trio has been on the run following an operation conducted by the State House anti-corruption unit led by Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema.

However, the Deputy Town Clerk Patrick Ongwen was rounded up by the concerned mwanainchi upon learning that he was wanted by the anti-corruption unit, but he is reported to have escaped from custody only to report later at the offices of the anti-corruption unit.
