Police in Kampala is struck with a body of an unidentified man who was beaten to death by boda boda cyclists in the wee hours of Monday on suspicion of being a car thief.
Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson told a press briefing at Naguru police headquarters this morning, that the deceased is alleged to have stolen a car from Bwebajja.
The stolen vehicle is UAG 965C. Owoyesigire explained that boda boda cyclists chased the robber up to COSU hospital in Entebbe where he rammed into a taxi UAW 370A with many occupants.
Four occupants of the taxi were injured in the accident and rushed to Kisubi hospital. However, only the driver is still unresponsive while the other three have been treated and are now fine.
After the accident, the angry boda boda riders pulled the robber out of the car and gave him a ticket to hell. Police is yet to discover the robber’s identity and the two vehicles were towed to Entebbe police station and investigations are ongoing.
