In celebration of International Women’s Day a group of women were at Mestil Hotel for a get together to chat, laugh, learn, vent, inspire and be inspired but most of all, to just celebrate what it means to be a woman today.

The women’s get together, the first of its kind in East Africa, was officially launched by the Queen of Buganda Sylvia Nagginda on Friday evening at a glamorous dinner that was attended by upper to middle class female professionals and entrepreneurs in East Africa.

The glamorous weekend version of a “Girls’ Night In” was organized in partnership with Baileys Irish Whisky, a brand that celebrates the spirit of womanhood. The evening featured an exciting performance from artist Solome Basuuta and Dj Sheila. It was an evening for the women to unwind and network as they sipped on finely made Baileys cocktails.

Motivational speaker Caroline Mutoko from Kenya took the participants through a self-appreciation session where they were advised on how to best portray themselves. The women also learnt how to become proper ladies with topics like posture & deportment, dining etiquette, tea etiquette, how to be a good hostess and so much more.

They were also mentored in financial empowerment where they were advised on how to use their money wisely improve and promote their businesses

As a way to give back and promote education for the girl child, part of the proceeds from the getaway will go towards paying for Sanitary kits for adolescent girls at Concern for the Girl Child (CGC) a Non-Government Organization that has existed since 2001.
