Ivan Katongole the key suspect in the women murders in Entebbe and Nansana, Wakiso district has been acquitted by the High Court in Kampala.

Justice Wilson Kwesigwa the head of the Criminal Division this morning acquitted Katongole a fish dealer at Kasenyi landing site in Katabi town council, Wakiso District, Andrew Kizito and Hellen Nabaggala who were all arrested in 2017 for the murder of Rose Nakimuli, a hairdresser in Entebbe, Wakiso District.

Justice Kwesigwa argued that the three suspects had no case to answer in relation to the death of Nakimuli after prosecution failed to produce sufficient evidence linking the accused persons to the scene of crime.

Nakimuli was a hairdresser in Katabi Village. She was one of the 23 women brutally murdered after being sexually abused in areas of Katabi Town council and Nansana Municipality in 2017.

Her body was found in a banana plantation with sticks stuffed in her private parts a day after her murder on July 24, 2017. Prosecution presented several witnesses who told court that Nabaggala and Kizito had been seen at the bar with Nakimuli on the night of her murder.
