The ruling National Resistance movement, NRM government will on January 26th commemorate 33 years Victory Day Anniversary.
The celebrations according to Maj. Shaban Bantariza the deputy government spokesperson, will take place on Saturday, 26th January 2018 at Muwafu Primary School Grounds in Nabuyoga Sub County, West Budama South Constituency-Tororo District.
The celebration will be under the theme: “A moment of glory that set a new chapter for Unity, Peace and Prosperity in Uganda.”
President Yoweri Museveni also NRM Party chairperson is expected to be the chief guest.
NRM took power on January 26th 1986 after a guerilla war. President Museveni who led a group of men and women to fight for liberation has since remained in power todate both as president and NRM chairperson.
Every year, government uses the day to give accountability for what it has done especially infrastructural development.
The president is this year expected to update the country about the standard gauge railway, road constructions in different parts of the country, electricity distribution, improvement in security especially introduction of cameras in Kampala, youth livelihood improvement among other achievements.
