Police are investigating the murder of a 65-year-old man in Kabale district alleged to have been killed by his own children in a family brawl.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional police spokesperson identifies the deceased is Stanislaus Turyatemba, a resident of Kabindi cell in Kafunjo parish in Buhara Sub County.
According to Joseph Baryamujura a neighbor and area leader, Tuyatemba met his death at the hands of his three children around 10:30PM on Sunday night after retiring from a bar in Buhara trading Centre while drunk.
He then reigned on his children and started beating them up. Led by their elder brother, 30-year-old Razario Turinawe, the children fought back using hoes and an iron bar to hit the deceased, which sent him 6ft under.
It is said that neighbors found Turyatemba unconscious around midday on Monday before rushing him to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for treatment. He breathed his last on the way.
The deceased according to neighbors, had the habit of beating and chasing his children from home whenever he would be drunk.
Maate says they have arrested Razario Turinawe and locked him up at Kabale Police Station to help with police investigations.
