The police flying squad has picked up an  year old woman identified as Regina Nakiwu for allegedly faking own kidnap with a intention of defrauding her 2,000,000 from her father.

The police flying squad has picked up an  year old woman identified as Regina Nakiwu for allegedly faking own kidnap with a intention of defrauding her 2,000,000 from her father.

According to police, Nakiwu and her boyfriend William Ssenyonga 20 years, to h hatched a plan to steal 2m Shillings from her unsuspecting parents who were to pay it as ransom for their daughter.

However, the love birds were arrested after Ponsiano Mbazira, Nakiwu’s father complained at police. The deal started when Ssenyonga called and asked the lady to pay him a visit at his home in Kawaala, Kasubi. 

Upon arrival, the lady suggested a plan to rob her own father to help the lover expand his shoe business. Nakiwu suggested that Ssenyonga calls her father, claim he had kidnapped her, ask for 2m Shillings as ransom to see her alive again. 

But, Mbazira after receiving the said call from Ssenyonga, asked for time to gather the money, and instead reported to the flying squad. Officers swung into action and found the love birds at Ssenyonga’s home in Kawaala enjoying lunch. 

Upon arrest, Nakiwu took the blame and said she was only trying to help her boyfriend expand his shoe business so as to gather money for her dowry.

The duo is currently being held at CPS Kampala pending arraingnment before courts of law.
