The Police in Katwe have arrested a security guard identified as Bosco Eyoko (25) for attempting to murder a colleague. Eyoko, a guard belonging to KPI security services Limited shot and injured a colleague identified as Judith Ayugi who was guarding at Baki Auto Dealers.

Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire explains that after the incident which happened on 10th October 2018, the suspect abandoned his SAR riffle and fled into hiding.

The victim was then rushed to Mulago for medical attention with a shuttered femor bone and is currently out of danger. 

Police coordinated with different stakeholders and the suspect was later located, arrested and confessed to the crime. Eyoku told officers that his riffle was faulty and he shot her by accident. 

However, the victim told police that a friend had connected her to apply for a job at KPI security services limited. She submitted her paper work requirements on the fateful day of 10th October 2018. She was hired, armed and deployed.

According to police, many private security service organizations have low levels of professionalism due to lack of proper vetting systems and training programs for their personnel.
