Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulani Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has revealed that he apologized to former presidential candidate Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye for disrupting the rally of an FDC candidate during Arua by-election campaigns.

During a radio talk-show (The hot seat), Kyagulanyi acknowledged that what he did was wrong, and as a matter of fact had spoken to the former FDC president and was forgiven.

On the last day of the campaigns (August 13th 2018), Kyagulanyi while leading the campaign procession of Hon. Kassiano Wadri supporters interrupted an FDC rally that was being addressed by Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye.

In a video that made rounds on social media, Kyagulanyi is seen waving at supporters of the FDC candidate Bruce Musemawho eventually start moving towards his rally but Dr. Besigye quickly calms them by pausing his speech and telling the supporters to let Bobi and his people pass. Many FDC supporters were angered and several others applauded Dr. Besigye for acting as a grown up and calming people as the situation could have turned rowdy.

“I was caught up in a heated moment, but I spoke to Dr. Besigye and apologized” he said.

Bobi also clarified that he does not intend to stand behind any already established political leader (Besigye, Gen. Muntu, Mao) but will rather push his “people power” slogan.

Asked if he intends to stand for president, Bobi said “I cannot disqualify myself” but could not answer with a yes or no. he further clarified that he is not in any way coming as a “Buganda savior” as painted by some people, but rather as a Ugandan representing a new generation. Bobi said he is against any tribal sentiments as his best friend is Nubian and his wife a Munyankore.

On the issue of leading an army of musicians against the regime, Bobi said King Saha, Kenzo and Dr. Hilderman among others had seen the light through a big brother. Hon. Kyagulanyi faces treason charges, he returns to court on 1    st October.
