Former Inspector General of Police, Gen. Edward Kale Kayihura can travel abroad for specialized treatment according to the Army General Court Martial.

The military Court has cleared Gen. Kayihura to travel abroad for treatment on Monday and missed his Court appearance that was slated for this morning.

The evidently ailing Kayihura asked for permission to travel to Nairobi for treatment from the Chairman, Lt Gen Andrew Gutti on Monday, which was granted.

During the court session in Makindye this morning, Kayihura’s case and one his lawyers, Ellison Karuhanga who was representing another suspect confirmed that the mention of the General’s case was postponed to October 1st 2018.

However, Karuhanga could not comment on his client's health matter and why he needed to travel to Nairobi for treatment.

Kayihura, who is being tried for failing to protect war materials, and aiding or abetting the kidnap and repatriation of three Rwandan Refugees, got his movements confined to Kampala and Wakiso Districts during the bail hearing.
