Officers of the Uganda police force have been lectured about their role in critical incident command. The lecture was delivered by the KMP Commander CP. Moses Kafeero at the senior command and Staff College in Bwebajja on Monday.

The lecture came in handy, as part of the senior command and staff certificate designed for police commanders to develop skills that will enable them to assess, consolidate and restore normality in critical incidents using different tactics.

During the lecture that was attended by over 38 officers pursuing a Masters in Peace, Governance and Security, CP Kafeero explained that critical incident command ensures coordination of different agencies for better performance.

“With effective critical incident command, the overall response of various emergency services will be greater than the sum of their individual effort to the benefit of the public” the commander said.

He further called upon the police commanders to embrace and build a good rapport with the media agencies through effective media strategies.
