Police in Rubanda district is investigating circumstance underwhich an American national was stung to death by wasps. 

The deceased has been identified as Gloria Suemiller, 65years, a resident of Oklahoma City. He was stung while tracking gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National park in Rubanda district last evening.

Kigezi rwgion police spokesperson Elly Maate says that Suemiller was overpowered by the wasps after she failed to run, while other people escaped unhurt. 

Suemiller along with seven other tourists including her husband, White Gary Lynn, crossed Uganda from the capital Kigali on Wednesday evening, spending a night at Ruhija sector in Rubanda, before embarking on the Thursday tour. 

Maate says the matter is being registered at Ruhija police post under reference SD 06/24/05/2018 and efforts are being made to bring the body to Kampala.
