A staff of Invasion for Poverty Action has drowned in Aruu falls in Angagura Sub County in Pader district. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Stephen Kiza, a resident of Entebbe in Wakiso district.
 
Police told our reporter that Kiza drowned when he jumped into the falls to swim with his friends. He later died while being rushed to Angagura Health Centre III in Pader for first Aid.
 
Reports indicate that a team of 14 staff from Invasion for Poverty Action, a non-governmental organization traveled to Gulu from Kampala on March 9, 2018 for a field activity, which ended on March 18th. They however decided to proceed to Aruu falls for some adventure.
 
The Aswa River Region Police Commander Patrick Jimmy Okema, says a case of death by drowning was reported at Gulu central police station under file number SD19/19/03/2018.
  
Okema adds that the deceased's body was handed over to St. Mary`s Hospital Lacor in Gulu town for a postmortem.
