Makerere university leadership has made an example of the infamous sex for marks Don, Dr. Swizen Kyomuhendo, a senior lecturer in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (SWASA), suspending him on Sexual Harassment allegations.
Earlier, MUASA Chairman Dr. Kamunyu had indicated that Kyomuhendo’s case should serve as an example to other lecturers who plan on doing the same.
Kyomuhendo’s suspension was sanctioned by Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, the Makerere University Vice-Chancellor saying it will allow for smooth investigations into allegations labelled against him.
According to Ritah Namisango, the University Senior Publicist, Prof. Nawangwe has also set up an Investigation Committee to handle the matter at hand. She, however, says that the names of the investigation Committee members are withheld, given the sensitivity of the matter.
The sex addicted lecturer has now been ordered to hand over all University property including students' scripts that are in his possession and any other work in progress under his care. He is also advised to desist from any access to the College premises and interactions with any student of Makerere University until investigations are complete.
He was accused of sexually exploiting female students in exchange for marks.
