Francis Zaake, Mityana Municipality Member of Parliament who was beaten to pulp by security agents who evaded parliament on September 27th is ready to return home after a successful head operation in the United States.

The youthful legislator was beaten up by security operatives who were dragging opposition MPs out of the house like some chicken thieves. He sustained serious head injuries and lost consciousness while being dragged to infamous police vans commonly referred to as “Mpaawo atalikaaba” by opposition MPs.

Zaake suffered for a few weeks in local hospitals before being flown to the US for specialized treatment.

Early this month, the MP whose hospital bills exceeded 260million, cried out for support but Parliament explained that before he left the country, the MP did not get right paperwork from the House to cater for his treatment.

However, Zaake announced on Tuesday that his treatment had been completed and that he will be returning home this Friday December 1st.

“On that first day of the last month of this historical year in the history of Uganda, I will come back to begin from where I stopped, I will come back more prepared to protect our constitution,” Zaake said.

His Mukono Municipality counterpart Betty Nambooze returned last week after successfully undergoing a spinal operation. The legislator was referred to Mulago, where she will continue treatment.
