Three Chinese nationals have been confirmed dead following a motor accident at Ndibulungi Village, in Butuntumula Sub County, Luwero District along Kampala Gulu Highway last night.

Three Chinese nationals have been confirmed dead following a motor accident at Ndibulungi Village, in Butuntumula Sub County, Luwero District along Kampala Gulu Highway last night.

According to Vincent Ssekatte, Savannah Region Police spokesperson the accident befell when a Kampala bound Premio registration number UAZ 002B driven by a Ugandan driver and carrying four Chinese nationals rammed into a Fuso truck registration number UAK 480W.

Ssekatte explains that the accident happened at around 9:30PM last night, and two Chinese nationals died on spot while the third died at Kiwoko Hospital moments after arrival. One other is still admitted with serious injuries.

The victims were identified as Yang Yiyo, Wu and Chuliu. Their bodies have been taken to Mulago Hospital Mortuary.

Police has now launched a hunt for the yet to be identified Ugandan driver, who fled into hiding after the tragedy. He attributed the accident to reckless driving.
