The Catholic Church under Mbarara Arch Diocese has written to the minister for presidency, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze, reporting the Buhweju district RDC Mr. Moses Mwebesa for invading St. Kizito Bihanga Catholic parish, ordering Christians and their leaders out of the church during prayers.

According to the letter seen by our editor and signed by the parish priest Rev. Fr. Beinganamuntu Kenneth, parishioners were attending their regular Friday over night prayers, when Mwebesa and his team of DPC and DISO stormed the place, taking over the pulpit and ordering everyone to leave the place.

According to locals, the RDC accuses the Parish Priest, Fr. Baingana for allegedly supporting a candidate not in his favor. The letter has been copied to the Arch Bishop

The church explains that the actions of the RDC were uncalled for, considering this was a Eucharistic celebration. “The RDC even made attempted to harm the parish priest” the letter reads.
