Douglas Lwanga is one of the most celebrated TV personalities in the country.

Having hosted some of the best entertainment shows like “Katogo” on Record TV, “The Beat” on NTV and now the “After 5” show on NBS TV, he is a role model to several aspiring TV personalities.

However, Douglas did not start at the very top. At one time, he was jobless only to be rescued by musician Bebe Cool.

Having started his career as a camera person at Record TV, he switched to become the host of the entertainment show but gave up the role after a few years to try something new.

This forced him to the streets and his friend  Bebe Cool was not pleased.

The Gagamel boss invited Douglas Lwanga to one of the top hangout spots in Kampala for lunch and also inquired about his next move.

Unfortunately, Douglas Lwanga did not have an answer, and it prompted Bebe Cool to call his old friend, Aggie Konde, then manager at NTV.

Douglas Lwanga narrated that he was invited to Aggie Konde’s office immediately and asked to write a show concept and within no time, NTV The Beat happened.
