Mpaka Records boss, Ykee Benda is slowly opening up about his last discussions with musician Dre Cali before he disappeared.
“We last talked on WhatsApp two months back. I asked him how he was doing because he had allegedly been sick. He had stepped in office yet it’s a requirement for all our artists to report to every week,” Ykee Benda explains in an interview.
“I asked my team members to visit him but Dre Cali said he didn’t want visitors. He claimed he would report to the office soon. After that, his phones went off,” he adds.
Ykee Benda also confirms he doesn’t know where Dre Cali is.
“I am only hearing the news that he is in Canada, but I’m not sure,” Ykee Benda says.
“What he did has shocked me. I can’t tell why he left or disappeared. He was disciplined. That’s what he showed me but it turns out, he wasn’t a good person,” furious Ykee Benda adds.
Before Dre Cali went off the social scene, he was battling a court case with his former management WYSE Technologies Limited. He is accused of breaching the contract he signed with management before dumping them for Mpaka Records owned by Ykee Benda.
