The Uganda Musicians' Associations is currently carrying out countrywide registration of musicians.

The association has no elected president but Cindy Sanyu has been acting as the interim president after former leader Ykee Benda resigned.

Elections to fill the topmost office were set for this month, but it was announced that they had been postponed till further notice.

No clear reason was given, but we have exclusively learned that the misunderstandings stemmed from Ugx 400M that the Ministry of Tourism promised to pay them to record a theme song for MAMAs. They had intended to use this money to organize the elections, but some members of the committee don't support this move.

They came to light at a meeting that was held at Sharing Hall Nsambya.
