Musicians under the Uganda Musician' Association (UMA) Umbrella are excited after Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda, State Minister for Tourism pledged to avail up to Ugx 400M for Ugandan musicians to record a theme song for MTV Music Awards (MAMAs) expected to happen in Kampala in May this year.

The move is meant to include all musicians who felt rejected when the Ministry rolled out to organize the Awards.

UMA under Cindy Sanyu has been tasked to organize the auditions as a criterion to spot the musicians meant to feature on the project.

According to Cindy, the established musicians will be asked to step aside to give the new and promising singers a chance to showcase their talents.

The money has not yet been received by the association as promised.

It should also be remembered that the MAMAs were supposed to happen in February this year but were postponed for unspecified reasons.
