Plagiarism accusations and copyright infringement are nothing new in the Ugandan music industry.

Forever upcoming musician Tip Swizzy, who recently released a new song dubbed ‘Idege’ featuring upcoming artiste Wizkeeber is accused of duplicating  ‘My Miserati’ a popular song by Nigerian Afro-Pop singer, Olakira whose real name is Adelusola Ebenezer Adefemi.

Tip Swizzy translated the song to Luganda, maintained the beat and the progression from the start to the end without crediting the original composers of the song.

Through the Twitter platform, several tweeps who claim to be Nigerians living in Uganda have vowed to engage authorities to help Olakira bring Tip Swizzy to books of law over copyright infringement.
