Since succeeding Sophie Gombya as the President of Ugandan musicians' association (UMA), singer Ykee Benda has been under fire from artists with many including Eddy Kenzo and Gravity Omutujju claiming he is not the right candidate.
Ykee Benda, a qualified chemical engineer has been part of the music industry for just 5 years something that makes many think that he is not the right man to lead musicians.
However, according to UMA PRO, legendary producer Bushingtone, the “Farmer” singer is the most qualified person to take on the role.
Bushingtone claims Ykee Benda has all the academic qualifications on top of being confident. He embraced the role at a time when none of the established musicians was willing to take on the mantle.
